A generous gift from alumni couple Brooks Anne and Johnson Berry is set to transform the experience of Ole Miss Rebels student-athletes. The couple, both members of the Class of 2005, have contributed a significant amount to the Vaught Society, the pinnacle of fundraising for the Ole Miss Athletics Foundation. This donation is among the largest in the foundation's history and will have a profound impact on the athletic program.
The gift will be commemorated by renaming a prominent area within the Vaught-Hemingway Stadium as the Brooks Anne and Johnson Berry Family Field Club. This space, located near the lower rows of the south end zone, will serve as a testament to the couple's commitment to the university's athletic success.
Johnson Berry, an Indianola native and graduate of the School of Business Administration with a degree in managerial finance, expressed his enthusiasm for the gift. He shared that the family has cherished memories made inside the stadium, particularly in the Field Club, where they've shared unforgettable moments. Johnson hopes that future generations of Rebels will feel the same pride and connection when they enter the stadium.
Both Brooks Anne and Johnson Berry have deep ties to Ole Miss. Brooks Anne, a Clarksdale native, earned her undergraduate and master's degrees in accountancy from the university and was a member of the Delta Delta Delta sorority and Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society. Johnson, a proud third-generation Rebel, grew up in the Mississippi Delta, where supporting the Rebels was an integral part of daily life. Their children, Swayze and Watts, are already enthusiastic fans and are on their way to becoming the fourth generation of Rebels.
The couple's generosity is not limited to their financial contribution. They have been committed supporters of Ole Miss athletics through the Vaught Society since 2021, underwriting scholarships and facility enhancements. Keith Carter, vice chancellor for intercollegiate athletics, praised the family's dedication, highlighting their direct support for student-athletes' success on the field and in the classroom.
Johnson Berry is the CEO and co-founder of DLRdmv, an electronic titling and registration provider that automates complex regulatory processes for automotive dealerships. He also serves on the board of the Young Presidents Organization of North Texas, a global leadership community for chief executives. The couple's success and passion for giving back to their alma mater inspire others to contribute to the continued growth and success of Ole Miss athletics.
