A beloved men’s clothing store in Idaho Falls is on the move—again. But this time, it’s not just about a change of address; it’s about a strategic shift that could redefine its future. Ferrell’s Clothing Store, a fixture in the community for decades, has relocated for the third time in its storied history, and the reasons behind this move are as fascinating as they are practical.
Published at 8:45 pm, February 4, 2026, and updated at 8:54 pm the same day, this story is part of our ongoing coverage of the dynamic business landscape in eastern Idaho. If you’re curious about what’s happening in the valley, you’re in the right place. Let’s dive into the details.
BIZ BUZZ: FERRELL’S FINDS A NEW HOME
Seven years after its last relocation, Ferrell’s has set up shop in a new building near the Grand Teton Mall in Idaho Falls. The store, now located at 2261 East 17th Street in Centennial Square, occupies the former Seagull Book space. But here’s where it gets interesting: this move isn’t just about a bigger storefront—it’s about accessibility, customer experience, and adapting to the evolving needs of the community.
Dana Wright, who co-owns the business with his wife, Teneal, shared with EastIdahoNews.com that the decision was driven by multiple factors. ‘We needed a larger sales floor and less backroom space,’ Dana explained. The new 5,400-square-foot location offers just that, compared to their previous 5,500-square-foot building at 3194 South 25th East, where the backroom dominated the layout.
And this is the part most people miss: accessibility was a major concern at the old location. Dana noted that the U-turn and single entrance on 25th East deterred some customers. ‘This new spot has better traffic flow,’ he said. ‘With a stoplight and multiple entrances, it’s just easier for people to get in and out.’
Ferrell’s in-house tailor, Kristi Eldridge, who runs In Stitches Alterations, has seamlessly transitioned to the new location. ‘We made her a dedicated space right here,’ Dana added, highlighting the store’s commitment to maintaining its core services.
But here’s where it gets controversial: While Ferrell’s is renowned for its men’s dress suits, Dana revealed plans to introduce suit rentals in the near future. ‘It’s something customers have been asking for,’ he said. But will this new offering dilute the store’s traditional focus, or will it attract a broader clientele? Only time will tell.
Ferrell’s has long been a go-to destination for young men preparing for missions with The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Its history is deeply intertwined with the community. Founded by Dave Anderson in 1950, the store originally operated at what was then JCPenney’s. Teneal’s father, Brent Tueller, purchased it in the 1980s, and Teneal herself grew up working there. The Wrights took over in 2018, continuing the legacy.
The former Broadway location, sold to local contractor Jayce Powell in 2019, has since been remodeled and is now owned by Rare Earth Enterprises LLC, helmed by Justin and Valerie Miller. While their plans are still under wraps, EastIdahoNews.com promises an in-depth story once details emerge.
Dana is optimistic about the future. ‘Being next to Work Wear House and Bob’s Indoor Golf is perfect,’ he said. ‘It’s like a hub for men’s needs.’ The store’s grand re-opening is slated for April, and hours remain the same: 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., Monday through Saturday.
